Steps to Accepting Your Offer of Admission

We understand that moving to Canada to pursue your academic goals is a significant step and investment. Be assured that a welcoming and supportive environment is waiting for you at Nipissing University. Our award-winning student support services and residences are just two examples of our commitment to fostering your success within and beyond your academic journey. 

Follow The Steps Below

1. Review Your Offer

Read your offer of admission including all supplemental information thoroughly. Your offer of admission was uploaded to your application on the International Application Service Portal.

2. Accept Your Offer

Accept your offer of admission by the date indicated in offer in the International Application Service Portal or contact your agent to assist you with accepting your offer through the portal. It is strongly advisable that you accept your offer within two weeks of the date of your offer letter. 

3. Pay Your Tuition

Pay your first term tuition and ancillary ESTIMATED fees of $15,220.76 through PayMyTuition. The tuition and ancillary fees include your student bus pass, student health insurance plan, access to BorderPass and a $5000 non-refundable tuition deposit. Your residence deposit and fees are not included. Payment of fees is one of the criteria that needs to be met to obtain your Provincial Attestation Letter (PAL).   It is strongly recommended this payment be made within two weeks of the date of your offer letter.

Full tuition fees are due by October 15, 2024, failure to meet this deadline may result in your withdrawal from your program and courses. 

 

If you plan on applying for the Student Direct Stream for visa processing, you will need to have paid your first-year tuition to benefit from the faster processing time. If you are applying through the regular process, you may still be required to show proof of payment of tuition as part of your visa application. It is strongly advisable that you pay your full tuition as early as possible.

Nipissing University has partnered with PayMyTuition for domestic and international tuition payments. With PayMyTuition, you can pay your tuition from any bank, in any country in any currency at better than bank exchange rates. PayMyTuition is fast, simple, and cost effective.

Complete your study permit pre-assessment with BorderPass

 

Nipissing has partnered with BorderPass to ensure your immigration journey – starting with your study permit application, to your arrival in Canada and beyond is as smooth as possible.

BorderPass will assist with and assess visa applications for all incoming students. Securing a study permit is an important step that is necessary to start your academic journey with Nipissing. We want to make sure you have all the support you need to ensure your application is done right! 

 

BorderPass will notify us once your pre-assessment is complete.

Provincial Attestation Letter

Once these steps are completed Nipissing University will assess your eligibility for a Provincial Attestation Letter (PAL). Details on how to qualify for the PAL can be found below. 

 

Due to the recent changes in the study permit process, a Provincial Attestation Letter (PAL) issued by the Designated Learning Institution (DLI) that you will be attending, must be submitted as part of your student visa application. It is crucial that you take the following steps. Once complete, Nipissing University will determine your eligibility for a PAL. 


  • Accept your offer of admission by the date indicated in offer in the International Application Service Portal or contact your agent to assist you with accepting your offer through the portal. 
  • Pay your first term tuition and ancillary fees through PayMyTuition by the date indicated below
  • Complete your study permit pre-assessment with BorderPass. BorderPass will notify us once your pre-assessment is complete. 


Application Portal

Receive your Provincial Attestation Letter (PAL). This will be uploaded to your application in the International Application Service Portal

Submit Permit

Working with BorderPass, submit your study permit application. Your Provincial Attestation Letter (PAL) must accompany this application.

Upload Permit

Upon approval of your study permit please upload a copy to the International Application Service Portal

Other Steps to Consider

Apply for residence or look for off-housing. The search for a place to live should begin early as housing can be more difficult to find toward the end of the summer - we strongly encourage all students to search for housing early.

If your offer is conditional, upload required documentation to show you have met your conditions to the International Application Service Portal

Documentation

Ensure you have packed your original documentation to provide to Nipissing upon arrival. Documentation must be brought to the International Office (F205).

Proof of Enrollment

Proof of enrollment requests can be made once you have registered for courses. Students who require confirmation of their current registration status at Nipissing University can visit our Proof of Enrolment website


A free Proof of Enrolment can be obtained through WebAdvisor. This option is signed by the Associate Registrar, Scheduling and Registration and will be printed on Nipissing University letterhead. Access instructions can be found on the Proof of Enrollment website. If the letter is not sufficient, custom Proof of Enrolment Letters can be produced for a fee. To order a custom letter, students must complete and submit a Proof of Enrolment request form. Proof of Enrolment request forms will be accepted by email, mail, fax or in person. Requests are typically processed within 2 to 3 business days, however during busy periods it may take as long as 5 to 6 business days depending on the volume of requests received. Your New Email Address

You will receive your Nipissing email account in mid-July 2024. We will notify you by sending an email to the email address you provided on your application. This email will let you know that your Nipissing email account has been activated. From that point on, that will be the only email account we will use to communicate with you. Make sure you check your email regularly to ensure you don’t miss out on any important and urgent communication.  

Accessibility Services

Nipissing actively promotes an accessible and barrier-free learning environment. If you require student accessibility services, identify yourself as early as possible so that accommodations and support systems can be arranged prior to the beginning of classes. For more information about the services available, the required documentation, and to complete the Self-Identification Form, visit the student accessibility website. Upon receiving a Self-Identification Form, Student Accessibility Services will contact you to begin the intake process.
